About Us
Petra Tabernacle of the Apostolic Faith was founded in 2003 by Pastor and First Lady Armstrong. Petra has always been committed to enriching the community spiritual, social, intellectual. With the help of the City of Detroit's Summer Lunch Program we have provided free lunches to the youth in our community. We host an annual B2SPR a program started by Yvonne Williams. Pastor Armstrong and I have always known that ministry isn't contained in the perimeter of four walls.

Detroit's Petra Community Outreach was established in 2010 to extend our youth ministry in order to better serve the youth and to reach out to those who otherwise will not come to us. Because of our commitment to inspire further leaders we recognized a need to revive baseball in the inner city (RBI). With almost all after school programs being eliminated in the inner cities we decided to use baseball as a vehicle to enhance the quality of life for the youth in our community by developing good sportsmanship, mental, physical and leadership skills as well as developing good moral and ethical character while they learn the fundamentals of baseball. We provide the youth with skills to become decision makers and leaders in their communities. We currently have Two baseball organization in our league; Detroit Inner City Exposure (I.C.E). Detroit ICE currently has 4 teams, check out their website at http://www.deticebb.com and The Metro Detroit Cubs. PCO would welcome the opportunity to be a little league baseball organization that you can trust and deliver you the best service in the community. If you're not on a team and would like to join ICE or The Metro Detroit Cubs click on the above links. You can also have your coach call to inquire about your team joining the Petra Community Outreach Baseball League.

Our goal is to ensure that more disadvantage youths have opportunities to attend college. Although our showcases and league play will continue to provide opportunities for some to play college baseball and beyond, we are implementing tutoring and other programs to ensure that every youth that comes through our program will have an opportunity to receive a college scholarship. Future plans are for a Detroit youth community center.
